Documentary film starts with research and ends with a story. In between is the work I care most about: finding the thread inside real events, real people, and real situations, and shaping it into something an audience can follow and feel, without distorting what actually happened.

I approach documentary as narrative non-fiction. That means treating structure, pacing, and character the same way I would in fiction, while staying grounded in observation and fact. It also means spending real time with a subject before the camera comes out, so that what ends up on screen reflects something true rather than a performance for the lens.
